Audemars Piguet unveils a new edition of the Royal Oak Perpetual replica watches Calendar Ultra-Thin, first introduced in 2018 as the thinnest of its kind. The new edition is presented entirely in titanium (case, bezel and strap) and with a touch of its beautiful blue dial. With a case height of just 6.2mm, the 41mm watch lives up to its name. The same rings apply to the self-winding in-house caliber 5133, first introduced in 2017 and measuring just 2.9 mm thick. Consisting of 256 parts, this workhorse features a special design that positions the functions of the perpetual calendar, which are usually placed on three separate levels, on a single plane. This new technical feat led to the development of two patented innovations: the integration of the month-end cam with the date wheel and the association of the month cam with the month wheel.
To further reduce the thickness, the dial also acts as a bridge. The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin introduces a new smoky blue dial developed specifically for this model. Light in the center and dark around the edge, it is decorated with a sunburst pattern that gives it a bright aesthetic. The deep shade of the background makes the calendar, month and leap year indications at 3 o'clock, date at 6 o'clock, day and day/night indicator at 9 o'clock even more legible. The moon phase at 12 o'clock is the only indication whose design has not been changed compared to the previous model.
The dial remains marked by twelve luminescent applied indexes and two replica omega central hands, also luminescent. The TAG Heuer Monza Flyback Chronometer (Ref. CR5090.FN6001) comes in an ultra-light and highly resistant carbon case. Its black dial, which is skeletonized to reveal some of the mechanics underneath, boasts a two-register layout, with a translucent smoked blue sapphire crystal chronograph counter at 3 o'clock and continuous seconds at 6 o'clock. The date display at 9 o'clock also features a luminescent, while the chronograph hands stand out in deep red. Two scales are integrated on the periphery, a speedometer for measuring distances and a pulsometer for measuring the pulse.
